As a Beachbody Coach myself, I have a coaching team I am very proud of (Team Sweet Life) that grows with new and determined people each day. I got inspired to do this post today after some reflection. My goal is to HELP those who are currently a Beachbody Coach looking for rejuvenation or SHOW someone looking into Beachbody Coaching the real deal behind what works and what does not work. This post is all about why Beachbody Coaching does NOT work for some people.
Below I’ll share the FIVE specific reasons why Beachbody Coaching does not (and will not) work for some. Use these reasons as a way to ensure you become a successful coach on our team right outside of the box, or, you zero-in on what you can do to achieve the dreams you set!
#1 Reason Why Beachbody Coaching Does Not Work – People Expect Rags to Riches in a Lottery Ticket
This is a HUGE problem with network marketing in general. You see the Beachbody Coach success stories and it makes it seem EASY and FAST. Like a Lottery Ticket to millions!
If someone is trying to have you join the team in a promise to make a lot of income, don’t get trapped into that lethal mindset!
THE TRUTH: Anything worth having takes work. You can’t just come into Beachbody Coaching and expect money to fall out of the sky. BUT what I can tell you (from my own experience) is that if you set a reason WHY you want success, and then strategize a game plan based on how we train you on Team Sweet Life to achieve that success, you will be on the path to success.
Instead of picking up a lottery ticket and expecting immediate success, create the success! YES, this can happen a lot faster than in a normal corporate job of fighting your way up the ladder, but the secret is strategy and consistency behind the strategy.
#2 Reason Why Beachbody Coaching Does Not Work – They wait for their Upline to Do Something
Congratulations, you are now promoted to the CEO – Now get to work!
What if your boss came up to you today and said THAT line? You now own the company, what would you do?
One thing for sure – you’ll most likely have a nice raise that you’ll be excited about. The future of the company is in your hands and you can take it to the sky or bury it deep below the ground.
This is really the same deal with Beachbody Coaching. I have seen many coaches come in and think that their upline (meaning, the person who they signed up with, or the team they are on) is just not the right fit or doing much.
But the successful don’t need and upline. They don’t need a “Boss”. They become the CEO and pave the path to destiny.
THE TRUTH: For success, get in and plug into the training that Beachbody and your Team provides (such as the Team Sweet Life training site). After you understand the basics, get out there and make YOUR dreams come true.
Jim Rohn once said:
The same wind blows on us all. The difference is the set of the sail.
Set your own sail to success, and you’ll be unstoppable, no matter what the circumstances are (your upline, failure, setbacks, etc). Don’t get caught in the trap of those who have their sail set and are heading for the rocks!!!
#3 Reason Why Beachbody Coaching Does Not Work – They Do NOT Share their STORY!
This is the WORST! Everyone has their own story to share. Even if you aren’t yet “FIT”, your story and struggle is what will attract a LOT of people to you!!
I can name numerous coaches who joined the team before they were fit. It was the best decision they made. They met new friends, increased their teams, and increased their incomes.
Gone are the days of being a salesperson (see: Beachbody Coaches do NOT Need to Sell). With the power of social media (FB, YouTube, Instagram), which we teach you when you are on-board, you can get your story out there to MANY people.
THE TRUTH: Personally, when I share my struggles with weight loss, fitness, and staying consistent, I attract the most people to join me in challenge groups. When that happens, the $600-1000 weekly paychecks happen as a byproduct.
I don’t make it about the money. I focus on my story, second helping others, and third the income byproduct. Post daily, post often, and SHARE VALUE!
#4 Reason Why Beachbody Coaching Does Not Work – Losing the Power of Momentum
Momentum can be a best friend or a cruel mistress. I have personally seen coaches join the team with a fire in their belly and start impacting many lives! Their income grows, they even achieve their first promotion to Emerald Beachbody Coach.
Then, something happens.
They go silent. They get caught in the trap of their job being more demanding. They lose steam. They FORGET THEIR GOALS AND DREAMS!
There is a reason I capitalized that last statement. Losing the power of forgetting WHY you wanted to be a coach is so upsetting. Supposedly it could fall into #1 that I shared above where the money isn’t coming fast enough.
THE TRUTH: When I start to get doubts or criticisms, or roadblocks, I remind myself of my WHY. I remember that I am doing this for my family. I am doing this for my FREEDOM. I am doing this to not have to go to work for 40 hours and week and retire when I’m 65-70 years old.
It takes work. But when you give up on the grind, you lose momentum. Great personal development books that I HIGHLY recommend to battle this problem is: The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. Pick it up and read it the moment you become a Beachbody Coach.
#5 Reason Why Beachbody Coaching Does Not Work – They Work with the Unwilling
As I write this I realize how most of these reasons why Beachbody Coaching does not work for some people relate in many ways. This one is the issue I see a LOT of people lose
momentum (#4) and realize it’s not an overnight money success (#1).
“Working with the Unwilling” includes:
- Reaching out to a Friend who you KNOW would be great as a Coach. They say NO. They might even say it’s a Pyramid Scheme.
- Recruiting someone just because, even though you don’t think their heart is in it, and you get crushed when they quit.
- Spending ALL of your time developing a Coach who isn’t really putting in any effort.
THE TRUTH: First, when someone tells you NO, it does not mean “no” forever. But do not spend all of your time trying to have them sign up as a Coach. Even if you see more in them than they see in themselves, move forward to connecting with other people. (Great book to help with this aspect: Go Pro by Eric Worre).
I can’t tell you how many times I SEE someone and KNOW someone who would make a superstar. They have what it takes 110%. But….they don’t yet see it in themselves. It is disappointing for them, but you need to keep moving forward. It stinks, I’m there with you, but it’s easier to work with the living than to work with the dead.
Secondly, you may have people that quit coaching. It isn’t fun because you know they are giving up on their goals they originally shared with you when you got started. This goes along with the third point of developing a coach who isn’t putting in any effort. Make it clear with your team that you will put time and effort into those that match that time and effort.
If you walk one step, I’ll walk two steps. If you walk three steps, I’ll walk six steps. If you stop, I’ll stop.
