Hi Coach Bob, I posted this question recently on youtube but decided to join your free program and if you don’t mind I will ask the same question here. I quit many times on p90x but will try and start it back up again. There are 12 dvds. So once I’m done with the 12th cd do I repeat them until 90 days with an increase in weights and reps? And when the 90 days is up and I’m done with p90x I can move on to p90x3? Or do the p90x over again? In your experience, what would you recommend? I just want to have an idea before I set my goal. Thanks!
SweetLifeCoach says
ajho203 Hey thanks for stopping by! You definitely don’t want to do the 12 discs in a row. In the kit there should have been a calendar set to choose from, as you will rotate the discs throughout each week in 30 day increments (which integrates the “muscle confusion” concept). Based on your goals you can choose one of the calendars (Classic, Mass, Lean, Doubles).
If you aren’t sure where to find that, Contact Me on Team Beachbody or on FB and we cant chat more. Thanks!
ajho203 says
I found it and thanks so much !

what protein is in your shake? whey or soy protein? Interested to start
Coach Bob says
I use whey and casein. I don’t use soy practically at all in my diet. Let me know if you have any questions on the protein shakes/etc

Hi
What do you think of autumn calabreses new DVD coming out in Feb? You haven’t referenced her workouts and I’m curious about them. I have done insanity, t25, p90x. Also a nonbeach body program called jnl fusion. I didn’t like p90x.. Insanity is too long.. T25 I didn’t like at all. Im getting married in may and I’m looking for a new workout to look lean..not bulky but have muscle definition. I’m a new mom so time is rough at times. I’m currently doing jnl fusion.. But I’m getting bored. I’m in pretty good shape but just need something new to give a lean muscle look.. So can you please advise me on the max30 and Autumn’s workouts. Thanks
Coach Bob says
Great to hear from you Marissa!
I have some basic info on the 21 Day Fix Extreme here. I am looking forward to that one coming out (in fact, my wife is looking forward to it more since she finished the original 21 Day Fix). It’s interesting you mention T25 – my wife Cristen tried both T25, P90X, and hated them both! 21 Day Fix was the one that jived well with her, so she is looking forward to the Extreme coming out too. You can see her Fix Results here.
Max 30 is something I’m starting January 5th, and it’s Tabata HIIT – very high-intense cardio where you literally max out on your efforts (this one will be a challenge, but we’ll make it fun!).
Have you tried out the original 21 Day Fix?
Thanks for stopping by!

Luke says
Hi Bob!
I’m a 20 year old male, 6’1” 196lbs. I was never a skinny guy. Actually in the past I was quite fat. But in my early teens I started playing soccer and baseball so I lost a lot of fat, but I still had belly fat. But I injured my leg and my biceps 3 years ago, so I was disabled to do any sport activity for 2 years. So last summer I started with Focus T25. First I lost 6 pounds and the I gained 11 pounds. I gained muscles pretty quickly but I didn’t lose a lot of body fat. That’s my main ‘problem’ for years. I’m not sad/depressed or anything like that because of how I look, but I know I never worked enough on loosing the fat. Well with T25 I was working hard but maybe I should do it again and again to lose all the fat on my belly and on my thighs. So after all things I had to finish in last 6 months now I’m ready to start a year or two long journey to lose fat and get healthier. My question is – with what should I start. I don’t have money (and time because of school) to start training any sport again or go to fitness, so my options are just T25 and P90X3 my cousin has just finished, Which one is better to start with? Oh and is there a chance that you are my coach even if I don’t have beachbody account? I don’t know why they have this rule, but somehow I can’t register, because I don’t live in USA or Canada.
Thank you for your time and your answer. And I really appreciate your time and effort you put into your videos, websites and answers. You’re my inspiration!
PS:
Sorry because my English isn’t perfect, it’s not my first language ;).

I just ordered the 21 Day Fix Extreme dvds yesterday… should I have gotten the regular 21 Day Fix first…?
I use to be an athlete (almost 10 years ago); can run and lift a bit still and completed Slim in 6 in August (without focus on the nutrition)… I really need to crack down, now that I’m creeping past 200lb again at 5’6″ (my max weight being 225lbs in 2011; and since then the least I got down to was 175 in 2012 and again in 2013). I can’t ever seem to stick with anything and yo-yo; and failed a few times trying P90x in the past starting too strong and hurting myself on day 3 or 4 a few times. I know this isn’t anything like P90x, but do you know if it is a lot harder than Slim in 6?
SweetLifeCoach says
@Guest Val Great questions and thanks for stopping by! I would say that yes it is a bit harder than Slim in 6 BUT keep in mind it isn’t insane or impossible. I would recommend starting off slow and modifying and really zeroing in on that awesome nutrition system that is included in the 21 Day Fix Extreme.
Then as you go you can scale up after each round as you see fit.
Also, feel free to join us here on this page for free and we can add you to the group of other Extreme Fixers that you can chat with daily!
Thanks!

Hey Coach! My name is Bill, I’m 56 years old and I’ve just finished my 4th round of P90X3. I haven’t used the Beachbody Coach they have assigned me. It would be very cool if I could get Bob to Coach me when I start a “new” program. Either P90X or P90X2, Haven’t decided yet. Very satisfied with the results from X3 but I want to try something new. Since my balance hasn’t improved very much with X3 (did I mention I was 56?), I’m leaning towards P90X. What do you think?
SweetLifeCoach says
Z71Bill Hey Bill! I connected with you via e-mail and I look forward to rocking this with you!

Hi! I’m a girl, 25 years old, 5’5″ and 144lbs. I just finished the Insanity Asylum and I’m trying to figure out what I should do next. I definitely feel stronger after finishing insanity asylum but would like to lose more weight and tone more. I’ve read up on your things and I’m leaning towards T25 first then PX903. Would you say that’s the right order or just stick with Insanity and do the Max 30?
Mary1111 says
It says it gives you energy. I suffer from anxiety. Is this safe for me to take? Once I tried herbalife the shakes and tea and my blood pressure went up really high. And my anxiety got worse.
SweetLifeCoach says
diana_90 great to hear from you and sorry for the delay, I was in Cancun with Beachbody and just arrived home last evening. As far as your goals on toning up some more, I will be honest and say that I think you’ll find better benefit out of Max 30 – the concept behind it is AMAZING and a great counterpart to Asylum and the original INSANITY. T25 might actually be a bit of a disappointment to someone that already rocked out with Asylum (and this is just my personal opinion based on my experience). What’s awesome about Max 30 is that you’ll have some of the similar moves from Asylum mixed with the Tabata strength moves that help you keep a good muscle foundation, which in turn helps burn more body fat in the long haul!
Obviously regardless what you decide know that we are all here for you, and I can add you into our free online groups for additional motivation and support.
Let me know what other questions you have, and thanks for stopping by!
Bob
SweetLifeCoach says
Mary1111 hey Mary thanks for stopping by! Yes it does help give energy and this is derived from whole food sources. From what I understand, Herbalife is good but the issue is, there are higher sugar counts and not enough balance of fiber to carbs and the dense superfoods when you compare ingredients side-by-side.
You can definitely give Shakeology a try for 30 days and see if it works (there is a 30 day money back guarantee on the purchase).
Feel free to check out my personal Shakeology review as well: http://sweetlifefitness.net/shakeology/shakeology-review/

Hi Bob, Thanks for all the advice here, I’ve been using it a lot. I have a beachbody coach but she is a friend and doesn’t provide as much helpful information or direction as you do! Anyways, I started my journey with the 21 day fix and I was 38 lbs overweight but lost 10 lbs after 2 rounds. Then the holidays hit and I gained it back. I then did PiYo which improved my balance, coordination but I only lost a few pounds with it. I’m now in the 3rd block of P90X3 and have lost 8 lbs, but I am still 22 lbs overweight. I love Zumba so I was thinking of trying Cize or TurboFire (which I tried a few of via beachbody on demand), but maybe Insanity Max 30 would be a better way to continuing my weight loss journey? Thank you so much for any help!
Gis says
Hi!
I started with P90X three weeks ago.
Today I allowed myself on the scale and I noticed a shocking weight increase of 5 1/2 pounds?! Is this normal? I actually want to lose weight.
I chose the LEAN P90X schedule to have better results. I am following a healthy diet too. I am 42 years old, mom of 2, my weight when I started this program was at 132 pounds. I don’t have much time to exercise and chose to buy this DVD for that reason. I used to be a member at crossfit, but quit since my goal is to lose weight, get lean and not bulky. I used to work out quiet a lot before having kids. I am fit and see that as a challenge. I don’t lose weight so easily, I need to push harder to get to my goal. My goal weight would be 125 pounds and of course, lose extra fat.
My questions are:
Should I stick to PX90 or move on to PX903?
Is it normal to gain so much weight at the beginning?
Will I start losing weight later?
Thanks.
SweetLifeCoach says
@CJ710 hey thanks so much for stopping by! I’d say that INSANITY Max 30 might be a good idea not only because the workouts are crazy (lol), but it incorporates a similar variety of the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan. Since you should already have the containers, you’ll be set and putting those two together would be AMAZING.
As for Cize, I recommend that as a good and fun backup to working out (and a good alternative to Zumba), but since you’ve been through 21 DF and X3, Max 30 would be the best follow-up to keep rocking towards your goals.
SweetLifeCoach says
Gis hey thanks for stopping by! This is similar to what I talked about during my X3 week 1 journey (concepts apply to P90X as well): http://sweetlifefitness.net/p90x3-week-1-review/
One key point – what does a normal day of eating look like for you with the diet? Feel free to also check out my info on the MyFitnessPal app which is what I use to track eating for P90X, X3, and other similar programs: http://sweetlifefitness.net/how-to-use-myfitnesspal/

Hi coach ,
I am Charbel 22 years old , 72 klg and 175 cm .
I finished up my first round of INSANITY ..and i lost 10 klg form 82 to 72
I started again with Focus T25 ( @ Morning ) + INSANITY round 2 ( @ night ) two week ago , and still no abs :/
what is your advice ? (Insanity max 30 ?? )
thanks !!
SweetLifeCoach says
charbelkabbouchi thanks for stopping by! I will say that INSANITY Max 30 has given me the best results hands down. I think the abs program on it is the best, so much so that I did 2 rounds of the Max 30 program and I’m now doing a Beast/Max 30 hybrid to mix in weight lifting with still having Max 30.
One tip of advice – follow the nutrition plan that comes with it to a “T”. They made it super easy and I think it helps big time in carving out those abs!
Keep me posted and let me know what other questions you have!

Hi Bob
I am into second week of Alpha t25 but have torn my calf muscle. The physio said to rest completely until end of week before restarting gentle exercise (I plan to follow the modifier) . When I do restart T25, should I start back at week 1 or carry on from mid week 2?
I’m super frustrated as I’m worried I will lose enthusiasm.
Thanks
SweetLifeCoach says
Fridando Thanks for stopping by and sorry to hear about your calf muscle. Either way works, if you want to start fresh start with Week 1 and go full steam ahead, or week 2…whatever you think will work best for you. Don’t lose enthusiasm because I will tell you that sometimes set backs and obstacles are just stepping stones to success. I’ve had a wrist issue, broken toe, sickness, you name it during my fitness journey. It is super frustrating, but each time I come back with the focus and get closer and closer to my goal. You got this!

Hi Bob,
Great site ! I’m 54 and want to get in shape (6’2″, 200#) I’ve had some back issues (spasms) and want to strengthen my core to help prevent further back problems. Also, I’m sure losing 10 – 20 # wouldn’t hurt either. I was thinking about starting 21 day fix to ease into things. I also like T25. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Rich
SweetLifeCoach says
pacificpilot thanks for stopping by! To be perfectly honest 21 Day Fix has been a quicker turnaround for people looking to lose a few pounds (10-50 pounds, where 40-50 pounds normally will take a few rounds). The nice thing about fix is that it comes with the nutritional system that is REALLY the heart behind some of the latest staggering results. Check out more: http://sweetlifefitness.net/fitness-programs/21-day-fix
Of course any program that you get thru Sweet Life Fitness will come with free access to our private group and free coaching.

Hi coach ,
I just finish my second round of insanity ..
and now i think about doing insanity max 30 and body beast huge at same time ??
You think it’s effective and make a good results ?
and nutrition i should take ?
thanks !
SweetLifeCoach says
CharbelElKabbouchi thanks for stopping by! Max 30 + Beast is what I’m currently doing with the Perfect Storm hybrid (http://sweetlifefitness.net/body-beast-max-30-hybrid/). I do think it is effective as you focus on continuing to manage body fat and at the same time increase overall muscle tone as well.
For nutrition I am doing the typical 30% protein / 40% carbs / 30% fats and right now at 2100 calories (calories are based on body type and goal).

Hi, 15 year old boy here!
I have done Insanity before, and it worked great, but for some reason I stopped.. This was 1 year ago, and I am noticing I am not as active as I used to, and I have put on some pounds. I am planning to start Insanity Max 30 tomorrow, and I will do it before school to get my metabolism going, and be more awake. I was just wondering, do I need to follow the nutrition guide very carefully, or can I just eat healthy. I am wondering since I am still growing, and I burn calories pretty quickly.
Thanks!
SweetLifeCoach says
denserphoenix66 eat healthy but do eat with a plan of some sort! The biggest thing is the portions – eat the right portions of food and you’ll take your results to the next level!

Hi Bob,
Thank you for posting this, Honestly I’m struggling a lot with my weight and body shape.I wouldn’t say I’m over weight but I just don’t look good, I hate my abs, I can pinch a lot of it in my hands, I feel that my whole body is flabby and ugly no matter how hard I stick to diet and exercise. I always feel I’m genetically cursed and that’s true.I’m starting Insanity workout today but still feel like nothing will work for me, nothing can fix bad genes. All I want from you is psychological reassurance, Is that possible?I cry so hard everyday and always feel heavy and couldn’t walk on the street. Part of it is a psychological problem, but I still have horrible body shape with a lot of subcutaneous fat in stomach and thighs.I’m 5’3 and 143 lbs and not able to lose weight further, I can’t accept myself and really wish to put an end to my life.
SweetLifeCoach says
@Anonymous Hey I’m glad you stopped by, and I am going to be honest with you, I’ve felt the same way too. There were many days, weeks, and even months where I had the same deal…pulling on the fat trying to figure out why the HECK it wasn’t going away. Believe me…it IS possible and YOU can absolutely do it!
A few turning points for me were;
1. Mindset – I had to stick to the “I AM GOING to do this” mindset…everytime the doubt snuck in, I had to flood my mind with positive affirmations.
2. Nutrition – don’t just “try” to do it – I had to go all in like it was a million dollar bet at a poker table. The nutrition system that worked best for me is the ones that come with 21 Day Fix/Insanity Max 30 (the portion control containers). Macros and calorie counting is alright, but being on the run and being busy, I have limited time to do arithmetic.
You got this! Keep me posted and don’t hesitate to reach out.
Onward and upward!

Shelby828 says
Hi Bob,
I’ve been doing insanity for a few weeks and I recently injured my knee pretty bad (not by insanity) and I still have about 50+ pounds to lose. I am getting married soon and I NEED to lose this weight for my wedding and to help rehabilitate my knee as well (doctor’s orders). I’ve been released to do a program as long as I take most of the pressure off my knee and I was considering either body beast or maybe a P90 program. I want to build muscle but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do about cardio in the mean time. Upper body and abs focus? How can I shed the pounds without using one of my legs? I am a 22 year old female and in good health besides the weight and injured knee just to give a bit more info about me. Thanks for any advice you can give.
SweetLifeCoach says
Shelby828 thanks for stopping by! I’d say Body Beast may be a good option as you mention, and focus more on the upper body and abs. The key that will unlock the door to the “muscle helps burn fat” theory in your case of wanting to get ready for the big day is to eat correctly to the nutrition plan – follow the LEAN phase and then eat 100% clean to hit that target. From there you can determine the next step whether you want to continue to build muscle and eat more (after the wedding), or continue to focus only on the lean phase. Keep me posted on your progress!

Hi bob
I am currently considering doing insanity max 30 but wondering if it’s best for me…. About me I’m 28 and weight about 195 kg give or take a few, I know that I am way over weight and I need to do something about it, before my health goes down hill as well…. Is there any advice you can give or should I seek a different program
SweetLifeCoach says
Brinkster88 it is really all based on your own personal preference and passion to be completely honest. If you like the cardio and intensity and are up for some fun in that aspect, then by all means rock and roll and use this to your advantage! Hi Bob,
I am 33 years old, approximately 290 pounds and have never really exercised much and I want to lose weight and body fat. What program would you recommend, T25 or P90? I like the cardio + resistance training of P90 but I also feel that T25’s cardio is more effective and hence will help me lose the body fat faster? Perhaps a hybrid of T25 cardio and P90 sculpt?
Thank you.
SweetLifeCoach says
@Jason Thanks for stopping by! I’m not too sure about a P90/T25 hybrid to be perfectly honest. I’d recommend sticking solely with T25 to cut the body fat. At that point if you are interested in building or further sculpting muscle, T25 can help get you to a point where you can consider stuff like P90X3 or Body Beast to take that up to the next level.
Definitely team up with us (click “Join Sweet Life Free” at the top) as I’d love to stay connected regarding your journey.
Thanks
Coach Bob
Jason says
SweetLifeCoach Thank you! I actually started T25 today and will stick with it. One question: when the moves get too hard or if I’m just out of breath and can’t keep up, do you recommend (1) pausing the video and taking a break, and press play when I’m ready again OR (2) let the video continue while taking a break and just jump into whatever is on when I’m ready.
Thank you!
irsa says
Hi Bob, Is it possible to to insanity max 30 and follow the Insanity elite nutrition meal plan,
Thank you
SweetLifeCoach says
@irsa It is possible however do keep in mind that the Elite guide is meant for longer workouts and a bit of a higher calorie intake depending on the goal you set/etc. Either way though, as long as you are measuring and keeping a close eye on your progress, that will be key! Keep me posted on your max 30 journey!
KW7 says
Hi Bob,
I’m currently using month 2 of Max 30 but would like to add a bit of variety. What would you suggest? I was thinking of using either T 25 of P90x3. Max 30 has work quite well for me, but I still want to lose about 10 pounds and get a bit more muscle definition (as the mother of 7, my abs have taken a real beating :). Workout time is limited (one reason I’ve really liked Max 30).
Thanks for your help!
Karen
SweetLifeCoach says
KW7 Great question. I would suggest P90X3 to be honest, and the reason for that is T25 is a bit of a downgrade (intensity-wise) from Max 30. I’ve had a few people suggest that it was too easy after going from Max 30 to T25, and plus you can use P90X3 resistance training to really take advantage of the muscle building components.
Keep rocking!

Hi. I recently discover this site, and I just love the way everybody tries to motivate each other. You are all too nice. I have done and completed Insanity Max 30, but I don’t feel my results are as impressive as other people. I have an umbilical hernia, and even though, it doesn’t hurt or has never popped out, I often feel like I’m scare of work out because something bad may happen (with the hernia). I am scare of hospitals and getting cut open, so I refuse to have surgery. Do you suggest I continue doing Insanity with this condition?
