Hey Sweet Life Fitness! This is Cristen (Coach Bob’s Wife!). Over the past several years, I have done a few different programs but have never completed them. I became bored with them or saw the 90 days of the program to be too far away and figured it would never get here. I would get to about week 5-6 and then give up. Not for lack of results, but lack of motivation. Then Beachbody came out with the 21 Day Fix. It is a 21 day program designed with a workout each day and a simple fool-proof eating plan to guide you through. Today, I’m sharing my experience with 21 Day Fix Day 1.
21 Day Fix Day 1 Review – Total Body Cardio!?!?
21 Day Fix has 7 different workouts that you rotate through each week. Each workout is about 30 minutes long each day and focuses on a different part of your body. There is Total Body Cardio, Upper Fix, Lower Fix, Pilates, Cardio Fix, Yoga, 10-Minute Fix for Abs, and Dirty 30.
For 21 Day Fix Day 1, your workout is Total Body Cardio. Now when I see cardio, I picture lots of jumping and running, squats, lunges, and getting all worn out, out of breath and a hot sweaty mess. While I was a hot sweaty mess by the end, it was not at all what I expected! Autumn, who is the trainer in this program, does a lot more static moves to get your heart pumping. She does 2-3 moves for 1 minute each with a 15 second break in between each move. Once you do those, they are repeated for the same duration. She does about 4 sets like this for a total of about 10 moves during the entire 30 minutes.
Equipment Needs: You will need 2 weights for this workout, a light and a heavy. I used 5 pound and 8 pound dumbbells. At times, the 8’s were a little heavy for me but I pushed through. To me, a sign of a good workout is how you feel the next morning. A couple hours after I finished the workout, my legs were starting to burn! I already love this program!
The Eating Plan and Nutrition – 21 Day Fix Day 1 Review
What I also like about 21 Day Fix is the eating plan that comes along with the program. It is tailored specifically to what you need each day with different sized colored containers. Once you figure out the calories you need each day based on the calculation in the book, it tells you exactly how much of each food group you need to eat.
When I started off on 21 Day Fix Day 1, I was worried I’d be hungry. I was a bit hungry (not gonna lie), but when I started feeling hungry, I was able to eat right away thanks to the food timing (you eat 6 times per day!).

I just signed up for the 21 Day Fix. I retired last year and I have continued to gain weight. At 63 I have to do something before my stomach rots out. I am doing this with my best friend, my daughter. Excited to get started. Ant tips?
