If you are looking for the right P90X3 Equipment needs, just GET the best and forget the rest!
If you are serious about results, there are three must haves for P90X3. The best part about the equipment needs are that you may already have them, or if you don’t, you can get them inexpensively!
Below I will share the top three crucial tools you need for P90X3 Equipment. Afterwards we’ll review the other tools that I consider optional.
Most important: if you find value out of this post, be sure to share it with your friends that are doing P90X3, and comment below and say Hi!
P90X3 Equipment – The Top Three Things You Need
There are three important tools you need. Check out my video below to see and learn about them all. Below I’ll share more information on these three tools along with links to get them at a discount.
As mentioned in the above video, here are the top tools you need for P90X3 equipment.
#1 – Dumbbells or Resistance Bands
I personally use dumbbells. For Guys, 5, 10, 15, 25++ pounds is best. For girls (who don’t want to bulk muscles), 5, 8, 10, 15 pounds is best. You can also use resistance bands, which are helpful both for traveling and for getting the same results.
Check out more on the resistance bands and prices here.
#2 – P90X Chin-Up Bar
You can try and avoid pull-ups all you want, but if you are serious about results, you need this tool! See my video for tips on modifying P90X Pull Ups over on YouTube.
The best for P90X3 equipment is the P90X-made chin-up bar. I have used store brands before, but there is a huge difference. First off, this chin-up bar provides multiple hand grips that you will use with P90X3. Not only that, the store brands tend to only have a few hand grips. This is an important factor because it will not work as many muscle groups.

#3 – Beachbody Jump Mat
Carpet, Tile, or Concrete Floors need support for your jumping. The Beachbody Jump mat provides some great support for the landings on those jumps. Not only that, it provides good support for Yoga and Pilates/floor moves.
If you want you can also get an alternative at any local store (see my video above for an alternative that I show). I have found that the Beachbody Jump mat provides more cushions for P90X3 equipment, but anything will work.

P90X3 Equipment – Optional Equipment
Optional #1 – Tony Horton Power Stands
When doing push-ups, you put a lot of strain on your wrists. A good alternative to reduce some of that strain are with these handy Power Stands. This particular tool isn’t including in the Ultimate Kit, but is a good idea. An alternative to this tool is using your dumbbells. You can place them on the ground and use them in the same way you would with the power stands.

Optional #2 – Chin-Up Max (Including in Ultimate Kit)
Pull-Ups are a bear! If you have struggles with pull-ups, use the Chin-Up max tool to succeed. This piece of P90X3 equipment wraps around your foot and provides resistance to help you pull-up.
This is included in the P90X3 Ultimate Kit, but you can also get it separately to help your success.

Optional #3 – Yoga Blocks
I personally think these are a great optional tool. I face a slight vertical challenge (6′ 7″), so getting my arms and legs stretched to the floor can be a challenge at times. This is where the Yoga Blocks can come in quite handy.
Alternatively you can use your dumbbells or another block to cover the space of your Yoga Moves. However, these are one of the best tools if you are serious about building up your Yoga Strength.
