One of Sweet Life’s own Rachel just completed the Focus T25 program with stellar results!
After completing the program, Rachel was able to shred 13 pounds and have an incredible story to share!
Check out Rachel’s story in her own words:
“I was very lazy and completely lacked self-confidence. I was always tired and lacked energy especially when I came home from work, so my husband and I often ordered dinner so I didn’t have to cook. I became more and more dissatisfied with myself and really began to have low self esteem. I had never struggled with weight before and having to deal with it was very new to me. After I got married I put on 20 pounds and went from a size 6 to a 10 or 12 in about a year. Honestly I felt ugly. I knew I needed a change big time! I was so tired of feeling bad about myself and having no energy. I wanted to make a change but didn’t know how.
My husband tried to get me to run or work out with him but I really didn’t like his program of weight lifting. I started running with a group of friends and lost a little but not enough to make me feel good about myself. After I lost a little with running I had a huge desire to lose more. I knew I needed cardio to get the fat off and started looking for a workout I could do at home that included more than just running.
When I came across T25 I knew it was what I needed! My greatest challenge was overcoming the thought of “I can’t”. I had never worked out before and wasn’t used to pushing myself when it got uncomfortable. At first I tried to squeak by with taking breaks and stopping when I was tired instead of pushing through. When I wasn’t getting the results I needed I knew I had to push myself and overcome my own mind telling me I couldn’t do it. I just decided to get through one whole workout without any breaks even if I had to use the modified moves for a second. After I made it through without breaks I was so exhausted but I felt so good about myself for accomplishing it! The thing that helped me the most was watching the seconds count down. Knowing that each 30 seconds or so the exercise would change and if I could make it to the change I could do it! It wasn’t easy but I determined that no matter how much it hurt I wasn’t going to take any more breaks! I liked the time-25 minutes.
Like most people I work and I don’t always have an hour or more to work out. With T25 the element of time was no longer a problem. I also,liked the variety of workouts and the style. Moving my body in different ways and learning to balance and use my core was really good! I wasn’t expecting to gain any muscle from it but I did and now I want more. I lost about 10 pounds and my waist has slimmed down a lot. I also lost 3 inches from each of my thighs which was an area of my body that I hated! Something that surprised me was the muscle that built up in my legs and arms. Shaun T loves squats and lunges and I love my legs now! I am the most proud of myself for completing it and learning that I can do whatever I put my mind to. Now I am a lot more careful about what I eat because I learned that food can also make you feel tired and weak if you don’t eat right. I am much more active now and enjoy exercising. I joined a group from my church that meets each week and works out together and I help others in the group learn how to overcome their thoughts and determine that they can do it!”
