Body Beast Lucky 7 Review of the Moves
Ok sorry, I have to throw this out here:
If you haven’t done the Body Beast Lucky 7 workout yet, you’ll know what I mean as soon as you push play LOL.
But all joking aside, Body Beast Lucky 7 is 22 minutes long and you use the EZ Curl Bar during the workout.
**NOTE: If you don’t HAVE the EZ Curl bar, don’t worry about it! You can always use dumbbells as an alternative. Just be sure to wear your Lucky Charms costume!
The Moves:
As I mentioned above in the video, all moves start with 1 rep and then repeat all the way to 7 reps. The beauty of the Body Beast Lucky 7 workout is that it incorporates COMPOUND movements. And compound movements are EXCITING!!! Why? Because compound movements burn the most body fat.
- EZ Push-Up + Clean + Squat: In this move you’ll do a push-up over the EZ Curl bar with one arm in front and one behind, then switch arms, come up to a clean move (aka stand up with the bar in hand), and then squat down.
- Deadlift and Bent-Over Row: personally I like to do the deadlifts as slow as possible to prevent my lower back from tweaking (plus, deadlifts HELP improve your lower back support). The team on the video goes a bit fast.
- Skull Crusher, Press, and Crunch: This is my all-time favorite move! I absolutely love working my triceps, biceps, and abs as it is, and this move works all three in one compound movement!
- Curl, Mil Press, EZ Squat: Another great move for your biceps and shoulders especially. If you are like me and have weaker shoulders than you do biceps, be aware of the amount of weight you are pushing!
- Delt Raise with Reverse Lunge: This move does a great job with the front of your shoulders (that helps with the 3-D effect of your upper shoulders). Of course the reverse lunge is thrown in there for some extra Lucky Charm magic!!
- Lat Oblique Twist: In this move you work your lats by twisting from one side to the other. Where the Lucky 7 works here is that you hold on each side for 1 second, then 2 seconds, etc all the way to 7 seconds on each side.
- Upright Row and Calf Raise: Another favorite of mine. I could probably go a little heavier on the weights for both of these moves, but by the end of Lucky 7 you’ll know where you stand, and can adjust weights as needed. Personally I found success in leaving everything status quo for the whole workout (15 pounds on both sides for now. As time progresses I’ll adjust).
As you can see from the Body Beast Lucky 7 review moves above, it really works your entire body. This is why Lucky 7 can really be a GREAT workout to keep in your back pocket. This leads me to my next point:
When Should I do Lucky 7? – Body Beast Lucky 7 Review
In looking at the Body Beast Schedule, you might notice that Lucky 7 is conveniently left off of the calendar. You may think things like:
Body Beast Lucky 7 is not on the schedule??!! How in the world am I to get my Lucky Charms
Calm down there, Leprechaun. This workout is not meant for the Body Beast workout schedule. Instead, it’s meant as a supplemental bonus workout. Here are a few good reasons and times to do Body Beast Lucky 7:
- Extra Workout: At only 22 minutes long, this is a great total body blaster if you want to add some extra exercise into your weekly routine. Just don’t heavy up the weights too much. You don’t want to over-do it on Lucky 7 and let the rest of your Body Beast workouts suffer.
- Skipped Workout: Do you feel guilty about missing a few workouts? Pop up the Body Beast Lucky 7 to catch back up with the total body blaster!
- Short on TIME: Especially when you are on the Build phase, there may be times you get stuck with a moment where you don’t have a lot of time to workout. Don’t just skip the day! Instead, pop in Lucky 7 and rock it!

It really is a ton of fun! The picture and name sometimes makes it all look overwhelming, but it’s actually a very nice and effective program 🙂
