I can’t honestly write this and not tell you that I had absolutely NO skepticism over the new 22 Minute Hard Corps program. Boasting only 22 minutes per day, my immediate reaction was: “wow, what’s with all these really short workouts?”. Don’t get me wrong though, after completing P90X3 and then INSANITY Max 30 results, which of course are both 30 minute programs, I really liked the shorter workouts. But really, 22 minutes? Hmm. Let’s discuss this more in today’s 22 Minute Hard Corps Cardio 1 Review.
Day 1. 22 Minute Hard Corps Cardio 1.
Mission: “Modify to Finish”.

22 Minute Hard Corps Cardio 1 Workout Details
Total Time: 22 Minutes
Equipment Needed: NOTHING!
Daily Directive: Modify to Finish
This daily directive is “Modify to Finish”. Being that it is only Day 1 of your 22 Minute Hard Corps experience, you don’t know what is about to hit you! As a former INSANITY Max 30 grad, I can even agree there are times this thing goes FULL speed ahead. So be ready.
You can start off your daily directive with COLD START – this is a warm-up that aims to get you ready for your 22 minutes. If you are feeling sore, unmotivated, or cold, do this one! It’s located on the menu of each workout.
You’ll kick off the Cardio 1 Workout with T-Jacks:
Followed-up with Bear Crawls, Lateral Shuffles, Forward Lunge Twist, Basic Burpee, A-Skips (my favorite), Run Lunge Squats.
Then guess what?
You repeat that for two more times (total of 3 rounds within 22 minutes).
In between each round you’ll get a 22 SECOND break to grab water, if you can.
On the cardio days, Tony Horton has you adding in the 16ish minute Core workouts (Core 1, Core 2, and Special Ops Core).

I’m starting Hard Corps this Monday. 🙂 I’m about 80 lbs overweight so it should be interesting.

Cardio 1 wasn’t bad. Easy to modify. I actually think this is a better fit for me than 21 Day Fix was. The movements are more familiar since I was in the Army. I’m shelving it temporarily as I’m focusing on a job search but should be able to come back to it in a few weeks. Nutrition is hard when somebody else is buying the food.
