Autumn continues her fierce and unrelentless nature in today’s Chisel Cardio Review within The Master’s Hammer and Chisel. Originally Chisel Balance kicked my butt, but then she took it to a new level with Chisel Cardio. If you’re interested in seeing the full rundown, check out the Hammer and Chisel Calendar for all moves.
But we all have goals, right? And we aren’t giving into any failed New Year resolutions, so this quote always reminds me why I do what I do. If you think Chisel Cardio or any Hammer & Chisel workout is tough, remember this:
So let’s get rolling on the Chisel Cardio review, starting with my video review and then some other great tips!

Chisel Cardio Review – Moves to Look Forward to!
I really enjoyed The Master’s Hammer & Chisel – Chisel Cardio today. Do not go into this workout expecting some type of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) such as INSANITY Max 30. Instead, it incorporates weight training alongside of the cardio (fat burn crazyness!)
What Type of Equipment do you need for Chisel Cardio?
Not much – just a bench (or floor), weights (I use a variety 8s, 10s, 15s, 20s, 25s, 40s), Chin-Up Bar (or resistance bands) and the Chin-Up Max.
The Warm-Up
The Warm-Up in Chisel Cardio is the same as it is in all Chisel Workouts. Check out my Day #1 Review of H&C to see what the warm-up is all about.
The Moves
The very first move greets you with a crazy move using a lighter weight!
ROUND 1
Over The Top
In this move you hold a light weight and go over your bench. Check out my video above as you’ll see a preview of me doing this particular move.
Pull-Up
Next you nail out pull-ups for 1 full minute.
I have gone back and forth between using a resistant band and the pull-up bar. It’s absolutely your call just make sure you are challenging yourself!!
Dumbbell Swing
This is the joke I make in the video above. Heavy up but keep your form on this move. It’s basically like a Kettlebell Swing only with a dumbbell. As Autumn will mention in the workout, use your glutes (aka BUTT) to manage this move. Do NOT use your back and don’t hyper extend at the top.
Crazy 8s
The next move you do focuses on your CORE and Abs! It’s time to do the 8’s.
In this move you take a dumbbell (I personally used 15s) and you cycle them in an 8 move. I also thought it felt a lot like I was rowing during the move too.
BURPEES
Well sorry folks, even is Chisel Cardio you can’t escape the bloody burpee. For this particular variation, you go down into plank, back up, and jump (repeat again…again…again).
SWORD PULL (LEFT & RIGHT)
I love this move, mostly because it helps work my two trouble areas: Legs & Shoulders. I started out light because the “pull” movement can be quite tricky, and I don’t want to snap anything up!
Check it out:
FOREARM PLANK KICK
In this move you are simply on the ground in forearm plank position. But during the minute long move you kick your legs out (left then right). This one works the obliques and I have to be honest this move really was a bit tough for me to work through. I will keep working at it though!!
STEP UP KICK
This is the final move of the FIRST round. You’ll get to use that lovely bench again, and this time you step up (while holding a weight) and kick. Be very careful with your footing on this move!
You then get a small relaxing break that doesn’t really do any justice before you:
Repeat.
The.
Entire.
Thing.
Boom. Enjoy!

Hi Bob, ive been doind Hammer and Chisel for around 10 days now and i think im doing well with my diet (never been able to stick to one before) do you ever find yourself having a sneaky snack or protein bar and if so how do you manage that in your diet plan
SweetLifeCoach says
StuartSheppard oh yeah that is natural! If you have red containers left in the diet plan, go ahead and do the protein bar or Shakeology as that always helps me stay on track without falling off track…if that makes sense. Keep rocking!

That’s a great idea thank you looking forward to the next video
