I just recently completed P90X3 Day 1 Total Synergistics. I am looking forward to this new program so much! I originally completed P90X back in 2010 (see my P90X Results). Afterwards I did a few programs here and there, with the latest being Focus T25.
But after P90X, I was lacking something. I wasn’t eating as best as I should have been, I was stressed, and I wanted to get ripped. After seeing the results of the P90X3 test group, I got pumped. After completing P90X3 Day 1 Total Synergistics today, I can see how they got ripped. WHEW!
I do have a lot to work on. But you know what? That is the beauty of fitness (and the SECRET). Most people stop and quit when something is too hard (or they can’t do it). Maybe that is you now? It sure was me for a long time, so it’s OK if you fit this description. But here is the secret, do it and push through it. Sure, it isn’t easy, but the ones that do push through are the ones on the magazine covers with those 6-pack abs.
P90X3 Day 1 Total Synergistics Review
The program starts off with a great warm-up (around 3-4 minutes). You can add more warm-up time using the “Cold Start” option on the menu screen.
The very first move you’ll do is the Push-Up/Side-Arm balance. This move is a great homage to the P90X program. You’ll remember it well. It did seem to go faster this time (after all, we only have 30 minutes!). I decided to stay off my knees and BRING IT, and I’m glad I did. I’m writing this post two days after I did P90X3 Day 1, and my chest is sore (that’s a GOOD thing yay!).
Another move I have to give credit to is the Boat Plow move. What a great abs move!! I had some struggle keeping my legs straight that I will be working on in the next three weeks. I also didn’t kick my legs all the way back during the plow, but I sure did feel it!
Unlike some of the other workout programs I did this past year, I like the short breaks between these moves. You use your P90X3 Worksheets and record all of your moves. You get a breather AND you get to track and see your progress. I love this better than pushing through an hour long hellish workout!
P90X3 Day 1 Total Synergistics Improvement Needed and Nutrition
What I learned from Day 1 is that I need to focus heavily on my balance. This will come with stronger legs and core (and as long as I don’t skip P90X3 Yoga!!!). If you completed P90X Yoga before, you may have skipped it (let’s be honest, we probably all skipped it since it was 1 1/2 hours long…). But now with only 30 minutes of Yoga, I want to use it to improve balance and posture 100%.
My nutrition landed me under my calorie goal for the day. It’s exciting to know I will need to get used to eating more again while aiming to hit a higher carb goal. I can already tell it helps give me more energy to BRING IT.
I’ve been tracking nutrition with MyFitnessPal and following Plan E (2700 calories) per the P90X3 Nutrition Guide. Check out my results here:
